Men charged over alleged assault of teenager on Melbourne tram

Two men have been charged over the alleged assault of a 15-year-old boy on a Melbourne tram.
Police described the attack, in April, as "highly aggressive" and "disgustingly violent".
The pair were allegedly caught on camera kicking, punching and stamping on the head of the teenage boy after harassing his girlfriend.
They were arrested on Friday and Saturday night.
One of the men, a 37-year-old from St Kilda, was charged with affray and released on bail to return to court in October.
The other, Darren Newton, 40, from South Melbourne, was charged with affray and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He was on bail at the time of the alleged offence and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance in June.
Police said they found the men largely thanks to tip offs from the public over the alleged attack, which happened on a tram travelling to Southern Cross Railway Station on Saturday, April 23, about 9.15pm.
